A film retrospective entirely dedicated to the legend of the silver screen, Sophia Loren, has opened in Hong Kong on the occasion of her 90th birthday. Glamour Italian Style: Sophia Loren Retrospective, running from 11 January to 16 March, is organised by the Hong Kong International Film Festival Society in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute, as part of the Cine Fan initiative. It includes the most significant works of the Italian actress’ career, which has spanned eight decades: the films Too Bad She’s Bad (Peccato che sia una canaglia), Two Women (La ciociara), Marriage Italian Style (Matrimonio all’italiana), Arabesque, More Than a Miracle (C’era una volta), A Countess from Hong Kong (La contessa di Hong Kong), Sunflower (I girasoli) and A Special Day (Una giornata particolare) will be screened in the prestigious setting of the Hong Kong Arts Centre and Premiere Elements cinema. Vittorio de Sica’s film Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow (Ieri, oggi e domani) is instead presented in the Cinema Heritage section of the Cine Fan initiative.
