From 4 to 6 September, 24 companies from the fruit and vegetable sector represented Italy at the latest edition of the Asia Fruit Logistica fair in Hong Kong. More than 700 exhibitors from 43 countries and about 13,000 visitors, the Fair confirms itself as a reference point in this field in Asia. Among others, a delegation of ASSOMELA, the Consortium of Italian Apple Producers’ Organisations that represents 75% of the national apple production, led by Director Giovanni Missanelli, who coordinated a collective stand through the brand FROM®️ with the major producer organisations of Trentino-Alto Adige, VIP Val Venosta, Melinda and VOG. A large delegation coordinated by CSO Italy was also present, whose companies included Origine Group, Oranfrizer, Rivoira and jingold. While meeting with the Consul General Carmelo Ficarra, all Italian entrepreneurs expressed their satisfaction with the numbers and results of the fair, which made it possible to maintain contacts and establish new interactions not only with Hong Kong interlocutors but also with counterparts from mainland China and neighbouring countries that are considered strategically crucial for the growth of business relations in this sector.
