As the Severe Tropical Storm Ma-on gradually edged closer to Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Observatory issued No. 8 Northeast Gale or Storm Signal at 19:25 on 24 August.
The Consulate offices will remain closed when T8 signal is in place.
