URGENT UPDATE – Restrictions for travelers coming to Hong Kong and Macao – update March 19th, 2020

 

 MACAO

Last Update: March 19th, 2020 – 11.50 a.m.

The Macao Authorities informed that – starting from midnight of 18th March 2020 – all travelers from overseas countries will be banned from entering Macao.

The Macao Government also informed that Macao-registered non-resident workers from overseas countries, if currently outside the city, will be prohibited from re-entering Macao, starting after the stroke of midnight on Thursday (19 March).

The ban will not cover those registered non-resident workers who at the same time are residents either of mainland China, Hong Kong or Taiwan.

 HONG KONG

Last Update: March 18th, 2020

The Hong Kong Government has informed that – starting from 0.00 am on March 19 – quarantine orders for compulsory quarantine will be issued to people arriving in Hong Kong who have been to all overseas countries/territories in the past 14 days, regardless of whether they are Hong Kong residents.

The mandatory 14-day quarantine in the quarantine centers set up by the Government shall remain into force for all travelers, resident or non-resident in Hong Kong, who have been to the Italian Regions of Lombardy, Veneto and Emilia Romagna in the previous 14 days from their arrival in Hong Kong.

Italian nationals who will have to undergo the mandatory 14-day home quarantine are advised to strictly follow the provisions. Violations will be punishable as criminal offence.
