In collaboration with Deloitte, Intesa Sanpaolo, and the Italian Chamber of Commerce, the Consulate General of Italy in Hong Kong organized a seminar titled “Italy: Your Opportunity”, dedicated to presenting investment opportunities in Italy to the local business community.
“Italy continues to be a highly attractive destination for foreign investors,” stated Consul General Carmelo Ficarra in his opening remarks. He emphasized the country’s competitive tax incentives and newly introduced visa options designed for high-net-worth individuals.
The seminar opened with expert insights into the most dynamic and innovative sectors of the Italian economy, illustrating how international companies and investors can benefit from Italy’s evolving entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Luca Mezzomo, Head of Macroeconomic Analysis at the Research Department of Intesa Sanpaolo, outlined the main strengths of the Italian economy. He provided a detailed overview of the structural reforms implemented in recent years, which have helped foster a more business-friendly environment.
Giulio Pesenti, Head of Strategic Business Development at Clessidra Holding—Italy’s leading private equity firm—examined the investment landscape in the mid-sized enterprise segment, highlighting several notable success stories.
Francesco Vitali of Deloitte Asia Pacific presented the current tax frameworks and regulatory tools supporting the attraction of foreign direct investment, as well as measures aimed at facilitating the entry of international investors into Italy.
The event concluded with a panel discussion moderated by Paola Bellusci, Director of the Italian Trade Agency (ICE) Office in Hong Kong. The panel featured representatives from advisory firms and local industry professionals, who explored investment opportunities in Italy with a particular focus on areas of interest for Hong Kong-based family offices.
