In collaboration with the School of Design at Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Hong Kong Design Centre, the Consulate General of Italy in Hong Kong, together with the Italian Cultural Institute and the Italian Trade Agency, with the support of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and Macau, presents two lectures by the renowned Italian Architect and Designer Michele De Lucchi on 11 and 12 February 2025 to celebrate the 9th edition of Italian Design Day, an annual recurrence dedicated to the celebration of the excellence of the design \u201cMade in Italy\u201d all around the world.<\/p>\n
Michele De Lucchi, Testimonial of Design for the Italian Design Day 2025, is one of the most prominent figures on the Italian architecture and contemporary design scene. He is the designer of the world\u2019s best-selling lamp, the Tolomeo from Artemide, which received the Compasso d\u2019Oro award in 1987, the oldest industrial design recognition in the world and the most prestigious Italian design award. De Lucchi has designed furniture for the most renowned Italian and European companies and has realized architectural projects all over the world, comprising cultural, business, industrial and residential buildings. As an architect and designer, De Lucchi has won numerous awards and acknowledgment. In 2008 De Lucchi was nominated Professor at the Design Faculty of the Politecnico of Milan and Member of the Accademia Nazionale di San Luca in Rome.<\/p>\n
