Hong Kong: adjustments to quarantine arrangements (from 12 August 2022)

From 00.00 (local time) on 12 August 2022, inbound persons from overseas places or Taiwan will be subject to quarantine under the “3+4” model as follows:

(a) 3 days of compulsory quarantine in one of the designated quarantine hotels (DQHs). During this period they must undergo daily rapid antigen swab (RATs) and a nucleic acid test on the second day of quarantine;

(b) 4 days of medical surveillance at home or in other self-arranged accommodation if consecutively tested negative during the compulsory quarantine at DQHs.

During compulsory quarantine, medical surveillance and self-monitoring period, inbound persons are subject to daily rapid antigen tests (RATs) until Day 10 of arrival at Hong Kong. They should also undergo nucleic acid tests on the fourth, sixth and ninth days after arrival at a community testing centre or a mobile specimen collection station, or arrange a self-paid test by professional swab sampling at a local medical institution recognised by the Government.
