MACAO – Restrictions for travelers coming to Macao

The Macao Authorities informed that starting from midnight of 17th March 2020, individuals who have travelled to countries other than China (i.e. Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan) within the past 14 days prior to their entry into Macao are required to undergo medical observation for 14 days at designated venue.

Those contravening the requirements may be subject to compulsory quarantine in addition to corresponding criminal liability in accordance with the law.

 

 

HONG KONG – Restrictions for travelers coming to Hong Kong

Upon the official request of Italy and other affected European Union countries, the Hong Kong Government has withdrown the measures that – starting from March 14th – would have imposed on all travelers coming to Hong Kong from Italy and from some regions of France, Germany and Spain a mandatory 14-day quarantine in the quarantine centers set up by the Government.

Starting from midnight of Saturday 14th March all travelers arriving in Hong Kong who have been to Italy and the other mentioned European regions in the previous 14 days from their arrival in Hong Kong will have to undergo a mandatory 14-day home quarantine.

The mandatory 14-day quarantine in the quarantine centers set up by the Government shall remain into force for all travelers, resident or non-resident in Hong Kong, who have been to the Italian Regions of Lombardy, Veneto and Emilia Romagna in the previous 14 days from their arrival in Hong Kong.

Starting from midnight of Tuesday 17th March, moreover, all travelers coming from the Schengen area* will have to undergo a mandatory 14-day home quarantine.

Italian nationals who will have to undergo the mandatory 14-day home quarantine are advised to strictly follow the provisions. Violations will be punishable as criminal offence.

* Schengen Area includes Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Principality of Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovak Republic, Republic of Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.
